Information and FAQ in preparation of the a2n #conference


The a2n #conference on 18 September takes a concentrated look at the central issues concerning the music industry in the digital age. Questions surrounding the issue of creating added values and profits are as important as issues concerning social values, cultural and artistic creativity.
 

We aim to host pragmatic and forward looking discussions and share knowledge and experience across genres and including related creative fields such as  film, games and fashion.

What can we learn from existing successful models of music production fincaning? Do challenges created by the spread of new media require structural changes in the industry and what would these look like? How can collecting societies keep working in the interest of the artists and at the same time provide future oriented models for rights management and distribution? What responsibility does the listener or consumer? What new models are there for cooperation between artists and other players? What is the role of labels, media and social networks, as well as festivals, concert halls, clubs and DJs in creating and distributing revenue? Also, the role of Berlin as a music hub will be discussed.

The one-day program of curated a2n # conference will bring these issues and questions to the point. International and local speakers, thinkers and actors will present their visions and functioning business models, together with the condensed results of the a2n # camp, communicated through the appointed rapporteurs.

How can I register for the #conference  register?

Who may attend the #conference?

All music enthusiasts and persons interested. The participation is limited to 500 people.

How is the #conference different to the #camp?

The #conference consists of a curated, compact one-day programme. Content here will be consolidated and to the point, and results documented so they can be conveyed to the media and a public audience easily. At the a2n #camp the programme will be shaped by the participants, discussions will be open and the focus will the to form networks and new collaborations.

How are the a2n #camp # and a2n #conference connected?

The #camp will prepare ideas, questions, solutions and case studies. The discussion results will be fed into the #conference by appointed rapporteurs. The rapporteurs will observe during the #camp and summarize results in order to input central, inspiring suggestions and contents to the #conference panels and forums. I would like my theme to be discussed at the # conference and suggestions for speakers. What can I do?

We look forward to your suggestions: conference [at] a-2-n.de. The more experts input into the planning, the more high-quality the output of the # conference will be. Should the proposed theme or the proposed speakers not fit into the conference planning there is always the possibility of hosting a session at the a2n # camp on 16th  and 17th of September.

Can I exhibit at the #conference?

No, exhibitors who are interested in presenting their products or services, can do so at the #camp. Please contact marketing [at] a-2-n.com

Can I  sponsor the #conference?

Can I accredit myself as a journalist for the #conference?

Yes. Please register with your exact contact and working details and a scan of your press ID card at press [at] a-2-n.de.

In what language will the #conference be held?

Lectures, panel discussions and forums will be held in either English or German, depending on the number of international spreakers and participants.

How much is a tickets to the #conference?

As we have not closed all sponsorship deals yet, the final calculations are complete. Our goal is to keep ticket prices as low as possible. As we, the organizer all2gethernow eV (iG), are a non-profit organisation we will only charge as much as we need to cover our expenses.

When will there be a definitive program?

Due to the short-term nature of this years all2gethernow organisation, changes to the programme are likely to occur until shortly before the event itself. The basic structure of the event, will be posted online and added to as we receive more confirmations – thus a rough programme will be available shortly and continue to grow during the next weeks.
